What is the Diamond Model of Coaching?
The Diamond Model is a coaching framework and toolbox. It helps coaches to focus on the areas that will enable clients to perform more successfully at work.
Just as a diamond is valued by the four “Cs” – clarity, carat, colour and cut – coaches using the Diamond Model judge their coaching work by the extent to which it leaves the client feeling Clear, Capable, Confident and Committed.
The Diamond Model recognises that individual clients vary in the extent to which they need to work on any of these four Cs. The Diamond Model is emphatically not a “one size fits all” prescription nor is it a sequence of steps for coaches to follow slavishly. It’s a framework that helps coaches to shape each coaching programme around the needs of the client, thus enhancing the chance of organisational success.
